Cubs and Scouts hike at Cape Roger Curtis on September 22

Cubs and Scouts will meet at Pebbly Beach, Cape Roger Curtis tomorrow for a hike, knife skills and fire building. Usual time of 6:30PM.

Edge Climbing and Swimming!

We are going to try and combine two activities into one day!On Monday March 24th, we would like to plan a trip to The Edge climbing centre and then go for some swimming at the West Van Rec Centre. A bus would be chartered (if there is enough interest) and leave Bowen at 9:30am returning on the 4:30pm.Cost would be $30 per person. A great deal for the entire day! Youth are asked to bring their own lunch and snack.Deadline to sing up is THURSDAY MARCH 20TH.


Science World Sleepover

Science World camps are loads of fun for everyone. After check in, the fun begins with an orientation, OmniMax movie, and time to explore the exhibits.We will be having dinner at White Spot located in Science World. Cost is included in the registration fee.The cost per child is $35. THIS IS A NON REFUNDABLE FEE. As Science World must account for the number of individuals attending, any change to attending unfortunately cannot be accommodated for unless under extreme circumstances. When:  Saturday: March 8th, 2014Cost:      Cost per Child = $35      Cost per Adult = $35      Arrival Time & Meal Option:White Spot Meal served at 5:15 pm. Swim Night CANCELLED

Due to the lack of response we are CANCELLING the West Vancouver Swim Night for Thursday Feb 6th.Monday is BC Family Day and there will be no meeting held.Feb 17th is a joint Cub and Scout meeting where by the youth can bring a friend.Please let me know if you have any questions.


Bowen Cubs and Scouts Swim Night

As mentioned previously, we would like to do a swim night at West Van Rec Centre on Thursday Feb 6th at 6:30pm.In order to plan accordingly please send me a quick email letting me know if:1) your child will be coming 2) if you are able to attend 3) if you are able to drive both ways or even just one wayThe sooner I know this information the better I can plan the event and get the details out to everyone.  Looking forward to a fun swim!


Great Time at Hollyburn Winter Camp!

Thanks to everyone who came out for the 2014 Bowen Scouts Hollyburn Winter Camp at Cypress Mountain.We had a great time tobogganing and playing in the snow and relaxing with some hot chocolate in the toasty warm cabin. Many thanks to the leaders and parents who made it possible and the Cubs and Scouts for making it fun!


Scouts Hollyburn Cabin Event

Event:                Two Night  Camp – Scouts (cubs information to follow)Location:        Scout Cabin on Hollyburn RidgeDate:                Friday,  January 31 to Sunday February 2Departure:        we will meet at the east end of the Cross Country Ski Parking Lot on Hollyburn Ridge at 5:15 p.m. on Friday, February 1.Return:        we will return to the Cross Country Ski Parking Lot 11am on Sunday February 2.Parent Participation:    parents are invited to participate in this event.Travel:        there is a hike of about 1 1/2 kilometres into the cabin.  Scouts and parents will require a backpack as they have to carry their own personal equipment into the Cabin.    Suitcases, garbage bags and other hand carried baggage are not options.  Also required is a headlamp or flashlight with spare batteries. We will be walking in to the cabin in the dark.Equipment:        a list of suggested equipment for Scouts and parents is enclosed with this bulletin.   The Scouts will likely spend a lot of time playing in the snow, so warm clothes and several changes of socks and mitts are recommended.Cost:                $25.00 for each participant.Registration:        please RSVP by email or phone and inform us if you plan to attend with your child. Also indicate if you are driving and able to drop off or pick up any other Scouts. Scouts and Cubs Remember Our Veterans

Bowen Island Cubs and Scouts honoured our veterans on this Remembrance Day by participating in the Bowen Island Remembrance Day ceremony.  The Cubs and Scouts each placed a wreath at the Bowen Cenotaph to honour those who gave their lives for our freedom.  We will remember.
