Cuboree 2016

When?Departure: Friday September 30th from Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal on the 5:50pm Ferry and returning on Sunday October 2nd, 2016 on the 2:45pm Ferry.Where?Camp Byng – a unique, 200 acre campground situated on the Sechelt Peninsula, also known as the Sunshine Coast. Camp Byng consists of 4 lodges with hulls, treed camping areas, creeks, 2 meadows with shelters, a chapel and many trails for the ultimate outdoor experience. A kilometer long ocean waterfront affords opportunities for beach activities, studying marine life and watching passing cruise ships. Since its official opening in 1922, Camp Byng has hosted thousands of Scout youth and other youth organizations.How to get there?Your camp begins with a 40 minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale Terminal. It is a 10 minute bus drive from the ferry terminal at Langdale to Camp Byng. Leaders & Youth travelling to and from Camp Byng should be in full uniform. Casual clothes while in Camp. Bowen Scouts 2016

Bowen Scouts are back! Beavers (ages 5-7) meets on Thursdays at 6:30pm in the BICS multipurpose room. Due to expansion, we now now have 5 new places opening up! Cubs (ages 8-11) and Scouts (ages 11-14) also meet on Thursdays at 6:30pm now at Cates Hill Chapel


Cubs is starting for 2015

Cubs is starting soon! Here is some important information about the upcoming year: Location and Time This is unchanged from last year – BICS Multi-Purpose Room on Thursday from 6:30 to 8:00 First Meeting The first meeting will be Sept 24th at 6:30. There will be an optional parent orientation at 6pm which will include the chance to register cubs or scouts. Registration You can either register through http://scouts.ca/ or at the first meeting. I expect to have 18 or 24 cubs (3 or 4 sixes) Leadership Euan has passed the Akela torch over to me so he can focus on starting the Sea Scouts program. Euan, John, and Chris are remaining scouters. Jim is currently doing the scouter training course. We are always looking for new Scouters; if we have more scouters, we can accept more cubs and run better activities. Christmas Trees update

We will be selling Christmas trees at the CSA Craft Fair as usual, but you can also arrange to purchase and pick up your tree or trees before then. They are selling quickly. We currently have: 4Wild Douglas Firs 5′-7′ @ $40 each11 Nobles 6′-7′ @ $75 each5 Alpines 6′-7′ @ $55 each+ $5 delivery to your driveway (or you can pick up at the Craft Fair).  All funds raised will go towards our winter camps at Hollyburn and Shadow Lake.
